Portrait Photographer Peter Hurley Launches NFT collections in his own Metaverse

Dynamic Portrait photographer Peter Hurley, also known as ‘Head Shot’ is in the business of launching a collection of 10,000 photography-inspired NFTs (non-fungible tokens) called Shabangrs on the Ethereum blockchain.

The trendy involvement of celebrities in launching their own NFTs has seen quite a surge in the past few months and by large, it’s continuous integration by various multimillion-dollar companies has been recorded to have made a massive impact in its various industries. Now, NFTs are positioned to be a natural fit with various rare items having permanent, trackable, and open value.

Photographer Peter Hurley says that owning a Shabangrs NFT will grant a player “citizenship in the virtual city of Shabangrsville” in the “Metaverse”. Shabangrs citizens will have access to exclusive lifetime perks and rewards as well as access to a flourishing community of the world’s best photographers and creators.” And its NFTs go on sale to the general public on October 30th.

‘Shabangrsville Yay or Nah’

The word “Shabang” was said by Hurley in one of his videos which eventually went viral and has seemingly become a catchphrase. Shabangrs NFT character would be included in a movie or game with a portion of the sales being donated to the United Nations Association of Tampa Bay’s Picture My Life program.

Buying a Shabangrs NFT also gives an opportunity to win some pretty cool prizes, including:

  • A private workshop with Hurley.
  • HeadshotCrew lifetime membership.
  • $500 B&H gift card.
  • 16” MacBook Pro.
  • Canon EOS R5.

How To Purchase a Shabangrs NFT?

The release date for Shabangrs NFTs has been set at 9 a.m. on October 30th. Hurley says it would be open for purchase through the OpenSea marketplace for 0.09 ETH (around $340). Each NFT is randomly assigned, so there’s no way of knowing what traits, perks, or prizes a buyer gets.

Members of the Shabangrs Discord can buy a Shabangrs NFT during the hour-long presale window at 7 p.m. EST on October 20th. There’s a second presale window at 10 a.m. EST on October 21st.

The Shabangrs’ roadmap is predicated on selling 100% of the available NFTs. Shabangrsville won’t open until they do and nor, does it seem, certain prizes will be given away until sales milestones are met. Also, your Shabangrs NFT is unlikely to increase in value if the collection isn’t sold out.
